On Friday, temperatures peaked at 44.6 and 44 degrees Celsius in Khajuraho and Naugaon, respectively.Twenty-eight cities recorded temperatures above 40 degrees for the first time this season. The Meteorological Department indicates that such hot weather will continue in the coming days.Cities across Madhya Pradesh are experiencing unseasonably high temperatures. Guna recorded 44.3 degrees, while Gwalior noted 43 degrees. Readings showed Ujjain at 42.8 degrees, Bhopal at 42.2 degrees, Jabalpur at 42.1 degrees, and Indore at 41.7 degrees Celsius. These readings are considerably high for this time of year.Severe heat conditions are prevalent in multiple regions. Ratlam and Sagar-Sidhi registered 43.8 degrees, Damoh showed 43.6 degrees, while Satna and Shajapur reached 43.1 degrees. Measurements indicated Narmadapuram and Rewa at 42.6 degrees, Tikamgarh at 42.3 degrees, and Shivpuri, Raisen, and Mandla each at 42 degrees.The Meteorological Department confirms rising temperatures during the daytime and night-time, predicting continued hot conditions.
High temperatures present substantial health risks. Important safety measures include sufficient water intake, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat, wearing suitable clothing, taking cooling breaks, and recognising symptoms of heat-related illnesses such as dizziness, headache, and nausea.
