Neetu Chandra demands ban on vulgar Bhojpuri songs in Patna High Court: 'Lyrics make school girls uncomfortable'
Neetu Chandra has filed a PIL in the Patna High Court seeking a complete ban on vulgar Bhojpuri and Hindi songs. She argues that these songs make school-going girls feel unsafe and suggests legal action against singers. Chandra believes such content can slow societal development and reduce respect for women.
As reported on IndiaTv, the actress said, 'Vulgar Bhojpuri and Hindi songs are not leaving the girls and women going to school and college in Bihar and they are forced to walk on the road with their eyes down. Due to these songs, women do not even like to watch TV at home. Many singers singing such songs have gained fame today, which can become an obstacle in the development of society and country.'
She further added, 'When girls or women cannot walk safely on the road, how can they think about development? If a government can enact a law to ban liquor to protect women from drunken husbands, then why can't it ban these vulgar songs for school and college-going girls and women? I want a complete ban on the production and playing of these songs in Bihar.'
The actress highlighted that such songs cause insecurity among women and have a negative impact on children. She warned that these songs steer society off course and diminish the respect owed to women. Neetu called on the people of Bihar to stand against these songs and recommended taking legal measures against the artists involved. A Public Interest Litigation was submitted to the Patna High Court, stressing that showing disrespect towards women carries grave repercussions.
