Billie Eilish, the Oscar-winning singer, slammed her fans for trusting and then posting negative comments on the fake AI-generated pictures of her attending the prestigious MET Gala 2025.
Billie Eilish bashes her fans
In a video shared by Billie on her Instagram story, she casually trolled the fans who failed to notice that she didn’t attend the gala, all while eating an ice cream cone. “Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year’s Met Gala being trash,” the 23-year-old said while laughing.
“I wasn’t there. That’s AI. I had a show in Europe that night,” Eilish revealed in the video she posted on May 14 while donning a white t-shirt.
Laughing frantically, Billie continued, “Let me be! I wasn’t even there.” Eilish, in fact, was performing the second consecutive concert in Amsterdam as part of her ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ tour.
Did this happen with someone else? Yes, Katy Perry
Well, Billie Eilish is not the only singer whose AI-generated MET Gala ensemble went viral, and the netizens reacted while being in the dark.
Katy Perry, the singer who went to space for 11 minutes, did not attend the glamorous gala, but her pictures were trending on the first Monday night of May, and it certainly wasn’t her first time.
“Couldn’t make it to the MET,” Perry posted on her Instagram story with screenshots of the fake dress and the pose on the MET steps that were originally posted on X (formerly Twitter). “I’m on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL),” the 40-year-old added.
Well, 2025 wasn't the first time...
As aforementioned, the same incident happened last year as well, when Perry’s pictures caught the eyes of social media users. Katy responded by stating that even her mom, Mary Perry, was caught in the bait, “P.s. this year I was actually with my mom so she’s safe from the bots, but I’m praying for the rest of y’all,” Katy Perry stated.
