When Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala expressed frustration over dating rumours: 'It’s been a year since my divorce'

Actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala, now married, have always been private about their relationship. Their engagement on August 8, held at Nagarjuna’s Jubilee Hills residence, marked a significant moment for the couple. They tied the knot on December 4 in a beautiful ceremony at Annapurna Studios, surrounded by their family and loved ones. However, they were once vocal about their discomfort over dating rumours.
In May 2023, during the promotion of his film Custody, Chaitanya expressed frustration over speculations linking him with Sobhita after his split from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Speaking to Prema, he said, “I don’t care what’s said about my work, but when my family or a third party is dragged into it, it hurts. Linking someone to my personal life is unfair, especially when it’s not their fault.”
Chaitanya emphasized that his divorce in 2021 was a private matter and condemned how rumours overshadowed the respect he had for that phase of his life. He urged people to let the past rest, adding, “It’s been a year since my divorce. Why are people still speculating?”
Sobhita, in an interview with NTV, dismissed the dating rumours as irrelevant distractions. She highlighted her focus on her career, saying, “I’m fortunate to work on beautiful films. Dancing in a Mani Ratnam film with AR Rahman’s music was a dream come true.”
She further stated her approach to handling rumours, explaining, “When I’ve done nothing wrong, I don’t feel the urge to clarify. Life is about counting blessings and improving oneself.”
Both actors maintained dignity and grace, focusing on their professional achievements rather than engaging in speculation.
