The Urban Sketchers marked its 115th meet, where doctors, engineers, architects, designers, employees, chefs and writers immersed themselves in live sketching at a uniquely charming and sustainable green cafe in the city. Urban Sketch is a global community of sketching enthusiasts who practice drawing on location in cities, towns and villages they live in or travel to.

Surrounded by greenery and the soothing sounds of chirping birds, the artists immersed themselves in live sketching at different corners of the cafe. After an hour of sketching, painting, and doodling, the artists came together to display their artworks, followed by a conversation about the ideas behind them. Speaking to Mishti, founder of the Urban Sketchers, Lucknow Chapter, she says, “What started as a small group of people has now grown into a community of art lovers. For them, it’s like a weekend activity where they grow, learn, and keep the artist within them intact.”

Shashank, a regular attendee who has been part of the group for the past two years, shares, “While I’m a digital marketer all five days of the week, it’s on Sunday that I explore the artist in me. Such activities in our city make it lively, approachable and help us explore its many layers through art.”
