Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the filmmaker behind popular films such as '
Arjun Reddy', '
Kabir Singh', and 'Animal' starring Ranbir Kapoor, is generating buzz with his upcoming project 'Spirit'. Apart from films, Vanga now grabbed the headlines as he shared his aspiration to direct a biopic about the iconic international music star
Michael Jackson.
Talking to Baradwaj Rangan on Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, “I want to do a biopic someday.
I would like to direct the biopic of Michael Jackson. But the question is, who will play him, who will be the actor? But if you get an actor, you can pitch it to Hollywood and you can make it in English. He led a very interesting life, right from his childhood to his schooling and how he changed his skin colour and all. It’s a great journey and a great story. But who would be the right actor, that’s the question. That will be a dream and everybody will buy the ticket. Whoever directs it, I would buy the tickets and watch it because I want to know.”
On the work front, Vanga is gearing up to direct two major films with Prabhas and Ranbir Kapoor. He has drafted a timeline for the highly anticipated sequel and his new project with Prabhas, titled 'Spirit'. According to Sacnilk.com, the director has planned his next ventures, which will occupy him for the next four years.
Reportedly, 'Spirit' is set to begin filming early next year with a release now planned for 2026. Initially scheduled for late 2024, Vanga described 'Spirit' as a "pure mass entertainer".
After finishing 'Spirit', Vanga will start working on 'Animal Park', starring Ranbir Kapoor. Production for this action film is likely to begin by the end of 2026, with a release planned for 2027.
