Deepika Padukone locked in for Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan starrer 'King' set to go on floors on May 18: Report
Shah Rukh Khan has confirmed that his next project is 'King'. While he has revealed that his 'Pathaan' director Siddharth Anand will helm the project, the superstar has not yet confirmed that Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Suhana Khan are a part of the film, despite reports.
And now since a while, there are speculations that Deepika Padukone is also a part of 'King'. Now a latest report in Pinkvilla has confirmed that DP is locked in for the film. This is the first project that she will get back to, after the birth of her daughter. This news portal has quoted a source saying, “Shah Rukh Khan was always clear to have Deepika Padukone on board for King. Initially, the dates were not matching as Deepika was taking time off to be with the newborn kid, and also hitting the gym to get back in shape. Due to a delay in schedules of King, the timelines aligned and she is back on board the film.”
The report further suggested that due to the schedules not matching, SRK had zeroed in on Kareena Kapoor Khan and Katrina Kaif for the film. However, now Deepika is ready to do the movie.

The source further told the portal, "After all the discussions, and setting the shoot timelines, everything has aligned well to have Deepika Padukone on board the film. It’s 10 to 12 days of shoot for Deepika, making it more of an extended cameo. She will be shooting for her role in October. Apart from Deepika Padukone, team King has another impactful role in the film, which warrants the presence of a senior superstar like Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, but there is no clarity on the status-quo of the same at this point of time."
The film is set to go on floors in Mumbai from May 18 onwards.
