ROHTAK: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has been awarded the prestigious PURSE (Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence) research grant by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. As part of this initiative, MDU will receive a research grant of Rs 6.42 crore to enhance its research ecosystem.
On National Science Day, MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh received the PURSE Excellence Memento from Union Minister of Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh during a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Expressing his gratitude to the Ministry of Science & Technology, Prof. Rajbir Singh emphasized MDU’s ongoing efforts to cultivate an innovative and supportive research environment. He mentioned that the university has introduced several progressive measures, including a Research Promotion Policy, to assist faculty members and research scholars in conducting exemplary research.
Notably, MDU is one of the nine universities in India selected for this prestigious research grant, further cementing its position as a leading research institution.
The event at Vigyan Bhawan was attended by MDU's Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. A.S. Maan, PURSE Coordinator Prof. Sapna Garg, Director of IQAC Prof. S. Narsimhan, Dr. Anil Ohlan, and other distinguished guests.
