Batista has battled some of the biggest names in WWE on the Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania, in his career.Batista became one of the biggest stars in WWE, alongside John Cena, since the Attitude era. From a protege of Triple H in Evolution to breaking out on his own as 'The Animal', Batista was a major star in his own right. Moreover, he has been part of some of the marquee matches at WWE's biggest event, WrestleMania. With the Show of Shows approaching again this year, here is a look back at the top three matches Batista competed in at The Showcase of the Immortals:

3. The Undertaker

In 2007, The Undertaker became the first WWE superstar to win the Royal Rumble from the #30 spot. After weeks of contemplation, The Deadman chose Batista, who was the World Heavyweight Champion at the time, as his opponent for WrestleMania 23. The main event showdown was a remarkable match as The Animal and The Phenom tore down the roof. While things did not go in favor of Batista as he lost his World title to The Undertaker, the match became one of his greatest in-ring performances in WWE.

2. John Cena

The post-Attitude Era saw the rise of two of the biggest stars since The Rock and Steve Austin. They were Batista and John Cena. However, Cena was positioned as the face of the company, which Batista believed was his spot. This heated feud led to a WWE Championship match between the two top stars at WrestleMania 26. Cena and Batista produced a stellar match which captivated the Arizona audience and ended in memorable fashion as the 16-time WWE Champion made the Animal tap out.

1. Triple H

Batista became The Animal under the tutelage of Triple H. However, in 2005, after he won the Royal Rumble, The Animal chose his own path and left Evolution to challenge The Game for his World title at WrestleMania 21. This was his first big showdown, and he delivered by defeating Triple H to win his first-ever World Heavyweight Championship. Coincidentally, Batista returned to WWE in 2019 wanting to fulfill the one desire he has had: to face Triple H in his final WWE match. After weeks of torment, The Game finally agreed to the match at WrestleMania 35. The former Evolution cohorts gave the WWE Universe another blockbuster after years, and this marked the end of his illustrious career in the global juggernaut. Also read: John Cena teases “more unpredictability” in WWE storyline ahead of his WrestleMania 41 bout
