Apple iPhone 17 series leaks hint at new design, camera upgrades and an Air model

Apple is likely to launch its next generation iPhones - Apple iPhone 17 series later this year. The series is rumoured to consist of iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple is said to add a new iPhone model, likely to be called iPhone 17 Air. The upcoming iPhones are expected to come with the updated A19 processor, improved battery life, upgraded camera features and more. When Apple launches the iPhone 17 lineup this fall, some noticeable design changes are expected. The slim and light iPhone 17 Air is likely to come with major design changes, but the Pro models will also see updates—especially to the rear camera.
Leaks suggest Apple may use a new "camera bar" design on the iPhone 17 Air, Pro, and Pro Max. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently said that the iPhone 17 Pro will have a single-color back. The camera section will match the rest of the phone. Reports also suggest that iPhone 17 Pro Max may come with a two-tone back, with the camera area in a different color from the rest of the phone.

One of the key upgrades anticipated in the iPhone 17 lineup is the inclusion of a 24MP front camera across all models—double the resolution of the 12MP sensor in the iPhone 16 series. The Pro variants are also expected to debut with triple 48MP rear cameras, marking a first for iPhones. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Air may feature a single 48MP rear sensor, according to reports.
For Pro models, the company is likely to opt for a horizontal camera bar to house the three sensors.
Other likely features on iPhone 17 series are A19 Bionic chipset, iOS 19, and upgraded Wi-Fi.
