Apple may finally unveil the long-awaited
iPhone SE (4th Gen) this year, as suggested by a new leak from noted tipster Evan Blass. In a private social media post, Blass shared what appears to be source code referencing the “iPhone SE (4th Gen),” casting doubt on earlier speculation that the device might be named "iPhone 16E."
In the post, Blass also shared an image allegedly showing the new iPhone SE, which appears to feature a Dynamic Island instead of the traditional notch.
This would be a significant design shift for the SE lineup, aligning it with Apple's more premium offerings. Currently, the Dynamic Island is available on the iPhone 14 Pro, all four iPhone 15 models, and the iPhone 16 series.
Apple iPhone SE (4th Gen) features (expected)
Rumored to adopt a design resembling the iPhone 14 or iPhone 16, the new iPhone SE is expected to introduce a host of modern features. These include a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a USB-C port replacing the aging Lightning connector, a single 48-megapixel rear camera, and an updated A-series chip. The device is also speculated to feature 8GB of RAM to enhance performance and support Apple Intelligence, along with Apple’s first in-house 5G modem.
Apple iPhone SE (4th Gen) launch (expected)
The likely release date for the iPhone SE (4th Gen) aligns with Apple’s usual SE timeline. According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the device is likely to launch in March or April 2025, following the pattern of previous SE launches. While the current SE starts at $429, a slight price increase is anticipated due to the upgraded design and features.
Blass’s leak also hinted at updates to Apple’s iPad lineup, including a new iPad Air and an entry-level iPad 11. While these devices are not expected to feature major design changes, they are likely to debut alongside the iPhone SE in early 2025.
